If you have just started your business or career that relates to the digital world, then building your online presence can be a little bit frustrating.

According to research, 97% of consumers use the internet to find a business. That is why, although building your online presence is time-consuming, it is essential when you are trying to start your digital marketing career.

What is an online presence?

An online presence is any existence of an individual or business that can be found through online research. When built strongly, it can develop awareness, help you gain fans, followers, customers and anything else you could ever desire for your business.

We have gathered 10 tips on how you can build your online presence right now:

1. Strategize

It is essential for you to determine what your goals are both in the short term or long term. Write down and be clear what your goals are so that you can work on it effectively. An example would be striving to gain 100 followers by the end of the month. After determining your goals, work out a strategy on how to achieve it. Also, don't forget to stop and track your progress once in a while to see how far you have gone.

2. Upload it

Do not overthink on whether or not the content you wish to upload is perfect. Nothing is perfect. Do not get stuck on the very last step just to overthink how you haven't created an excellent content. Launching it is definitely better than nothing at all.

3. Consistency

I can't stress you enough of how important consistency is. Whatever medium or platform your content takes, consistency is critical. Make sure that you have a solid content planned and that it is valuable to the audience. You've got to have something useful to offer your audience as this will build your credibility and online growth. At least have one or two social media platforms that you regularly post and engage on.

4. Build relationships

Look for a group or online community that includes individuals who share the same interests or who run similar businesses as you do. Doing this can also be an inspiration for you or your content. Start engaging and building relationships with them by being an active member of the group. Building strong relationships may get them to help acquaint you to others who are in your industry or niche.

5. Patience

Building your online presence is no easy task, and it most definitely does not happen overnight. Patience is key in this process. Do not stop in the middle of the process and give up just because it is time-consuming or because it seems impossible for you to reach your goal. Patiently build your profile, grow your followers and customers to achieve greater brand awareness.
